Santokh Singh Dhir is a known figure in Punjabi Literary circle. Whole of his life remained in poverty but enriched Punjabi Literature by his writings. Upward straight fingure is central point of Dhir's personality. S. Santokh Singh Dhir is Shiromani Sahit Awardee of the State of Punjab and National Sahit Akademi Award.

Sh. Tera Singh Chan is proud of Punjabi Theatre. Chan established new land marks in the field of Theatre. Sh. Chann role is very important in the foundation of Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and IPTA and for success of its activities. He was put behind the bar for alleged anti state activities during Indo-China war. But he was the creator of patriotic song "Hey Piari Bharat Ma.." (Oh my beloved bharat mother). This song fills up patriotism among its listeners. It is the matter of satisfaction that Sh. Tera Singh Chann has accepted the patronization of Sarghi Kala Kender, Mohali.

Harnek Singh Gharuan (Patron)

Sh. Harnek Singh Gharuan is a rare and unmatched personality. Entrance of Literary persons or artists in the political field is commonly heard but its vice versa is rarely heard. He is perhaps the only example of this vice versa phenomenon. About 8 to 10 years back he organised various Indo-Pak cultural Programmes which had contributed a lot to convert the feeling of hatredness into the sprit of brotherhood and friendship among the Indians and Pakistanis. Earlier hot winds used to blow from both the sides but with the efforts of personalities like Sh. Gharuan winds of love has emerged. It is a matter of pride for Sarghi Kala Kender, Mohali to have the patronization of S.Harnek Singh Gharuan.

On the one hand Sh. Rajinder Singh Cheema is a top leading criminal lawyer and on the other hand he is a Punjabi thinker and art lover. For earning bread he is now settled at Toronto in Canada, he is know figure in the field of Journalism and literature even in Canada. He has not only maintained his emotional attachment with Sarghi Kala Kender but the same has more deep end.

Although Sh. Harpal Singh has come in contact with the activities of Sarghi Kala Kender in recent past only but now is attached with the Kender at emotional level. During the process of production of Kender's Telly-Film "Dafftar" he remained at one leg and managed everything at the location. Sanjeevan Singh (President)

In the year 1981 Sanjeevan entered the world of Punjabi Theater as an actor in the play staged at his college and there after never turned back. He neither thought of the tough path which he had opted and neither has thought about the target but he is involved in the theater activities with regular pace and dedication.

In the year 1991 Sanjeevan with the help and co-operation of like minded dedicated artiest, formed a theater group named Sarghi Kala Kender. But now Sanjeevan has penned 13 Punjabi plays and has presented the same under the banner of Sarghi Kala Kender. He considers his play "Khusre" as his master piece. Also the writer and director of Kender's VCD Film "Dafftar", Sanjeevan has his two play namely "Freedom Fighter" and "Balkh Na Bukhare" in the published form. Sanjeevan was awarded the Ishwar Chander Nanda Award by the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for his play "Freedom Fighter" and the same was bestowed by Smt. Sheela Dixit, Chief minister Delhi. If Sanjeevan has worked hard for Sarghi Kala Kender then the Kender too has returned to him along with the interest in the form of that the Sanjeevan has attended by now.

Piara Singh Jodhaul (Senior Vice President)

Since the formation of Sarghi Kala Kender Piara Singh Jodhaul has contributed a lot in every function of the Kender. Although he is not directly related to Theater but he is very good performer of Bhangra and has preformed the same at various places all over India. The appreciation of the activities of the Kender is the hard work of Piara Singh.

Narinder Kaur (Vice-President)

The will to learn something of theater attached Narinder Kaur with Sarghi Kala Kender. Her hard work and good nature helped her to become amongst the good actors of Sarghi Kender and to further achieve the post of Vice-President of the Kender. Narinder also motivated and attached her daughter Gunjandeep with Punjabi theater and Sarghi Kala Kender. Ashok Bajheri (General Secretary)

Ashok Bajheri has been the unanimous choice as General Secretary since the establishment of Sarghi Kala Kender. Though not related to the Theater he is well acquainted with the objects of Sarghi Kala Kender. He has closely seen all the stages of development of Sarghi Kala Kender. Ashok is also dedicated to social work. He has inherited social values from his father who was a freedom fighter. He is associated with many Social Organizations. He had resolved many family and Social disputes without approaching to the Police or Courts. If persons like Ashok enters the Politcal field then the Political scenario would be totally different.

Savi Satvinder (Joint Secretary)

Savi Satvinder entered the field of Punjabi Theater as an artist through the play "Mastane" a production of Sarghi Kala Kender. During its rehearsals once Satvinder expressed her inability to perform in the play but a sympathetic and boosting attitude of the Director Sanjeevan made her to perform at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. That was the year 1997. Now she has become the need of any production whether it be VCD performance, tele film/serials. She is specially invited to play important characters in these projects. Even in the production of Sarghi Kala Kender she is given important character. Presently she is Joint Secretary of Sarghi Kala Kender, Mohali.

Sanjeev Diwan (Finance Secretary)

Sanjeev Diwan achieved the present level of artist by stepping from the Ramlila as child artist and then attainted the position of Director of Ramlila. with this background Sanjeev Diwan, popularly known  as Kuku Punjabi, is now part and parcel of Sarghi Kala Kender. He is associated with the Kender with heart and soul. Tough tasks are assigned to Kuku Punjabi during the presentations of the plays because he knows the easy, effective and economical alternates to the assigned tasks. Besides having a good managerial capacity he is competent to do any kind of characters in the plays, films etc.

It is Manoj who is actually working and involved in so many fields simultaneously and that too in a leadership capacity be it a Aggarwal Sabha, any religious or social organization. He is emotionally attached with Sarghi Kala Kender since long. He is keeping the accounts of Sarghi Kala Kender without any finical consideration. It is hoped and wished that Manoj will associate with Sarghi Kala Kender for the times to come.

Piara Singh Rurka

Sarghi Kala Kender has one principal while selecting artists for its productions that one may not be a good artist but must have a committed and sincere attitude and aptitude to learn. For this reason number of beginners and fresher are now established in the field of Theater and Films. It was this attitude of Piara Singh Rurka and of Ranjivan that Rurka was able to successfully perform the typical character of "Amli" in the play "Mera Ujjria Gwandi" in January 2005. Earlier Piara Singh Rurka was actively engaged with the productions of Sarghi Kala Kender with the production related task of managing refreshment, set, purchase of costumes etc.

Ranjivan Singh (Press Secretary)

Professionally a Lawyer, Ranjivan do his profession and theatre simultaneously with sincere dedication but not at the cost of each other. When he argues in the court room an artist is missing but when he perform on stage a lawyer is missing. This it a rare blend of profession and taste. If Sarghi Kala Kender is a body then Ranjivan can be termed as its brain.

Kulwinder Bawa

Kulwinder Bawa is a photographer by profession. Among hundreds, if not thousand, the photo clicked by Kulwinder can be easily identified. He is competent to give artistic angle to the objects in front of the lens. He has not only designed the logo of Sarghi Kala Kender but has recorded the video of every production/presentation of Sarghi Kala Kender in a systematic manner. Presently he is working for City Channel as a Photo Journalist and is among the leading journalists of Mohali.

Lakhwinder Singh

Lakhwinder is working as Male Nurse in the PGI, Chandigarh and is President of his Employees Union. He was introduced to the Sarghi Kala Kender by a common friend. Generally in every Theater group a new comer is assigned back stage tasks. Since he came in touch with Sarghi Pariwar during it's presentations thus he was assigned the duty to manage the costumes. He not only managed but pressed the costumes and kept the costumes properly after the show for further use. Now he is given preferential roles in every production of Kender. He is a known figure these days in the field of T.V, Serials, Videos, Albums and Feature Films.

Zubin Mehta

Zubin Mehta is a son of Late Sh. Anil Mehta the founder member and sincere advisor of Sarghi Kala Kender. Anil wished Zubin at the top of the field of art. For this reason Anil named his son as Zubin Mehta a renowned musician of world fame. Although Sh. Anil is not with us physically but his thoughts and dreams are with us in the form of Zubin Mehta the youngest executive member of the Kender. Zubin these days is among the established artist of Chandigarh, Mohali, Paunchkula and surroundings and is visiting theater director of many educational Institutes. Hopes from Zubin are high.
